Renegade Communications is proud to present the Scottish debut of legendary Brazilian Bossa Nova/MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) songwriter and performer Marcos Valle.
Marcos, who collaborated with Sergio Mendes in an embryonic version of Brasil ‘66 and with Tamba Trio (whose version of “Mas Que Nada” became a world wide hit after being used in a commercial by Nike for the World Cup in France in 1998)l, went on to record the definitive version of the perennial favourite “Os Grilos” – “Crickets Sing for Anamaria” on his album “Samba ‘68.” Marcos is the composer of Samba De Verao – So Nice (Summer Samba) and more than three hundred songs. His music that has been recorded by artists of the stature of Sarah Vaughan, Chicago, Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Peterson, Ramsey Lewis, Dave Brubeck, Thoots Thielemans, Joe Pass, Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, Bebel Gilberto, Astrud Gilberto, Joe Williams, Leon Ware, Sergio Mendes, Flora Purim, Laura Figy, Basia, Eliane Elias, Eumir Deodato, João Donato, Gotan Project, Jazzanova, Four Hero, and many more. Marcos Valle continues to record fabulous music and his more recent albums such as 1999’s “Nova Bossa Nova” are as vibrant as his classic recordings of the ‘60s and ‘70s, “Samba ‘68” and the universally acclaimed 1971 masterpiece “Garra.”
